What Constitutes as an Emergency Dental Need?
There are plenty of reasons why you would want urgent dental care. The most common reason is that your teeth are causing you pain. Dental pain can come from a large range of dental disorders or problems. The most common reason your teeth would hurt you is if you have dental decay or periodontal disease (gum disease). Both of these dental disorders can degrade the quality of your teeth and even cause nerve pain. When you are in pain, it is natural to want immediate care. Dentist offices are able to not only inspect the issue with your teeth, but also administer painkiller to address the issues. Of course, not many dentists offer urgent dental care.
Avulsed (Knocked Out) Teeth
Knocking out teeth is far more common than you would think, Avulsed teeth, or knocked out teeth, can occur if you are hit in the face very hard. This phenomenon is most common with athletes, such as football players and boxers. You can also have a tooth knocked out by simple accidents, such as a door hitting your in just the right place to detach your dental roots. Either way, if your tooth is knocked out, you should try to position it back in your mouth and visit a dentist immediately.
You can also go to a dentist’s office if your teeth are cracked, loose, or broken. This will mean that your tooth is chipped or cracked. If your teeth are broken and are causing you pain, contact our practice immediately to receive care.
